Bad news for the Golden State Warriors as NBA Media Day commences. Anthony Slater is reporting that the Warriors have lost center Kristaps Porzingis indefinitely due to an unspecified health condition.
The Warriors acquired Porzingis last February from the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for Jonathan Kuminga and Buddy Hield. Porzingis played 15 games for them, starting 11, averaging 16.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks in 23.7 minutes per game. Golden State extended the veteran center over the summer
and planned for him to become a key part of their center rotation which otherwise features ultra-vet Al Horford and sixth-year center Charles Bassey.
The Warriors were already down two key players, as forward Jimmy Butler and guard Moses Moody are out for the season with knee injuries.
