According to a report from Sport Bild journalist Christian Falk, Bayern Munich and Liverpool could be in a heated race for Borussia Dortmund center-back Nico Schlotterbeck:
I can’t say it’s true, in this
case, that Bayern Munich are ahead of Liverpool in the race for Nico Schlotterbeck. That’s because Bayern aren’t putting a lot of pressure on this deal at the present time. There are still talks between Borussia Dortmund and Schlotterbeck over the possibility of a new contract.
That said, Bayern do have the Germany international on their list, of course, and now they have to wait and see how things go with two other names – Dayot Upamecano and Marc Guehi. So, Schlotterbeck is on the list, but he’s not the number one target on the list.
Jonathan Tah is Bayern’s only German defender since Philipp Lahm, so they are searching for such players. However, if the other two solutions work out as planned, they won’t need Nico Schlotterbeck.
An x-factor in this transfer battle could be what happens with Bayern Munich’s pursuit of Crystal Palace center-back Marc Guéhi and its contract talks with Dayot Upamecano. It is expected that the Bavarians will need at least one center-back for next season, but adding two is not out of the question — especially if Kim Min-jae also moves on.
Bayern Munich is steamrolling into the week and is scorching hot.
Hotter than hot.
Blazing hot.
However you want to put it, the Bavarians are riding high and playing better than they have at point since 2020. This has truly been a fun ride to watch, but it is far from over. In the midst of all of that, we have a ton of news going on and a lot of it (hell, all of it) is positive at this stage.
Let’s get into all of it here. This is what we have on tap for this edition of the Bavarian Podcast Works — Weekend Warm-up Show:
