Good morning, baseball fans!
As we are getting closer to the holidays, I thought we could take some time to revisit some of the San Francisco Giants’ best games. Or at least a few of my personal favorites.
Yesterday, we re-visited Game 5 of the 2010 World Series, and we did the same for Game 7 of the 2014 World Series over the Thanksgiving holiday. Which means that today, we are going to re-visit Game 4 of the 2012 World Series!
While I loved the other two World Series victories for various reasons
(2010 being the first, 2014 having the Madison Bumgarner Experience), the 2012 playoff run is possibly always going to be my personal favorite.
Watching the team come back from having their backs against the wall in the earlier series, only to come back and sweep the World Series? Yeah, that was pretty great. I also got to watch that series with my dad, so I think back on that time very fondly.
He came to visit me when the team was facing elimination in the Championship Series and then they started winning. I told him he wasn’t allowed to go back home until they lost a game. And they never did. So we got to celebrate in my tiny apartment in Petaluma, banging pots and pans, yelling until we were hoarse, and at one point I even tied a Giants blanket around me like a cape and ran through the parking lot shaking my rally beads.
Excellent times.
If you haven’t gotten your presents wrapped yet, now would be an excellent time to settle in, watch the game and get that taken care of! Enjoy!
