Forgotten man Deivid Washington looks set to close the Chelsea chapter of his young career, having reportedly agreed a permanent move to sister-club RC Strasbourg.
According to L’Equipe, the BlueCo beancounters are recording this as a €10m transaction, which is a fairly hefty valuation for a player with a grand total of three (3) senior professional goals to his name, though still only about half of what we deemed wise to pay Santos in 2023 for his services and, mainly, his potential.
The 21-year-old
spent all of 2025 back on loan at Santos, fairly unimpressively, before seeing out the rest of the season at Cobham with the under-21 squad. Hopefully he can get his career trajectory back on track at RCSA.
The report adds that Washington won’t be the last bit of multi-club business for us this summer, with Omari Kellyman also set to join permanently and Dário Essugo possibly set to fill the third loan spot (after Genesis Antwi and Filip Jörgensen). If Essugo goes (which is apparently what RCSA would prefer), then Mykhailo Mudryk will have to find a different solution (and Leeds United are making some noise in that regard).
