Real Madrid legend Luis Figo talked about El Clásico in an event with Betfair where he also shared his thoughts on how these games tend to unfold.
“I think Real Madrid will win 3-1. They play at home and
that always makes a difference. Besides, it would be a nice scoreline, with goals and entertainment,” he said when asked to predict the game.
The former winger also discussed how Real Madrid can use last season’s Clásico to make sure that they’ve learned their lesson.
“If Madrid focuses on what happened last year, they’ll use it as motivation. But every season starts from zero, with new signings and different goals. In a Clásico there’s never a clear favorite,” he added.
Figo was teammates with current star coaches like Zidane, Guardiola or Luis Enrique, and he explained that he did not expect to see the Frenchman become such a successful manager.
“I didn’t expect anything from Zidane, given his personality. But he won everything as a player and as a coach. Others, like Guardiola or Luis Enrique, already had the soul of managers when they were players,” he concluded.
