The shoe has dropped.
We all knew that Mark Williams wasn’t going to play 82 games this year, but he has had remarkable health thus far. He has already set a personal record for games played this season at 56.
Now, he will be out at least 2-3 weeks with a stress reaction in his left foot.
Mark Williams has averaged 23.6 minutes, 11.6 points, and 8.1 rebounds so far this season.
The Suns are scheduled to play the Bulls tonight at 7:00 PM,
with Oso Ighodaro as a probable starting center. Though no one will be gleeful about another starter going down with injury, especially with Dillon Brooks continuing to recover from a broken hand, this 2-3 week stretch will give Suns fans a taste of the Khaman Maluach experience. Expect it to be rough, expect it to be raw, but be patient and look for signs of what is to come in the future. It will be his first experience getting extended minutes at the professional level.
