Per reports, Bayern Munich has sold Germany international Alexander Nübel to Beşiktaş, but before the two clubs could agree on a deal, Nübel and the Bavarians had to work out some financial details.
Specifically, Nübel was going to take a salary hit to make the move, so he wanted Bayern Munich to make up the difference. With Beşiktaş threatening to move on and turn it focus to another goalkeeper, Bayern Munich essentially paid Nübel to go away per Bild (as captured by @iMiaSanMia):
Before his move
to Beşiktaş was done, there were negotiations between Alexander Nübel and Bayern yesterday over a compensation. Nübel wanted the club to pay him the difference between his current Bayern salary for the remainder of the contract and his Beşiktaş salary before he agrees to the move. An agreement was reached last night. Max Eberl was under pressure because Beşiktaş threatened to move on to another goalkeeper if the Nübel deal wasn’t finalized yesterday, hence Bayern agreed to the compensation.
Per Capology, Nübel makes €10 million (gross) per season with Bayern Munich and the goalkeeper will bring home €5 million (net) with Beşiktaş. Based on rough estimates, that could mean that Bayern Munich will tack on €1 million to €1.5 million in salary for Nübel depending on the exact financial details of the arrangement if the report is true.
