This week, we asked Jacksonville Jaguars fans how confident they are in Walker Little and Cole Van Lanen to fill the offensive tackle spots after Anton Harrison was moved to injured reserve.
Only 13% of respondents said they feel very confident.
“We really are fortunate to not have to play a backup in a situation when a tackle goes down,” offensive coordinator Grant Udinski said this week. “I don’t look at Walker as a backup tackle or a backup guard. We have seven, eight starter-caliber offensive linemen,
and I know that’s an incredibly rare luxury to have that type of depth at the offensive line.”
‘Of course, we’re going to adjust things based on [the opposing] front, regardless if he’s playing tackle or Anton’s playing tackle or Cole’s playing tackle or Wyatt Milum, it doesn’t matter who’s at tackle, we’re going to adjust things based on the defense. But having a guy who can go in there and play in the middle of a game or in the middle of a series and go out there and play like a starting tackle is a huge luxury.”
