Yes, Collin Holderman had an awful night and the Guardians lost to the White Sox, but the headline is that the Guardians actually tried to squeeze bunt RHYS HOSKINS home.
In the SECOND inning, with one out and Rhys Hoskins on third and Travis Bazzana on first, Austin Hedges laid down a squeeze bunt to try to score Hoskins. Hoskins, running through a vat of January-tempered molasses, was tagged out. It was truly dumbfounding strategic thinking… clearly coming from the dugout. Stephen, baby, STOP THIS.
It’s idiotic.
If the Guardians can find a way to win this afternoon, I will agree to forgive everything that has come before. That’s how important this game is. 2:10PM. Another bad starter who will somehow handle Cleveland’s lineup, looks like.
Please, Vogt, do not intentionally give the other team outs. The guys are doing a good enough job of that on their own.
AROUND MLB:
Tigers won, Twins lost.
