Bayern eyeing Rogers? (The Athletic’s David Ornstein and Jacob Tanswell via @iMiaSanMia)
In a somewhat shocking report, Bayern Munich has been linked to Aston Villa attacking midfielder Morgan Rogers — and it is not as if this report came from Don Balon or anything. It is from a legitimate source, The Athletic:
Bayern have been discussed as a possible destination for Morgan Rogers for several months. Vincent Kompany admires the player but nothing concrete has yet developed.
This is odd to say the least. Rogers has been very closely linked to Arsenal, but would Bayern Munich really be ready
to pay big for another attacking midfielder?
Right now, the Bavarians has been linked closely to PSV Eindhoven attacking midfielder Ismael Saibari, which begs the question — why an attacking midfielder? Bayern Munich already has Jamal Musiala, Serge Gnabry, and Lennart Karl among options at the position.
Is Bayern Munich worried about Musiala’s future or something? Would Rogers or Saibari be able to play another position? Is the club toying with a move to wing for Musiala?
No one knows at this point, but targeting that position is curious.
PSG to make move for Álvarez? (ESPN)
Paris Saint-Germain is reportedly going to try and beat FC Barcelona to the punch and make an offer for Atlético Madrid striker Julián Álvarez:
In recent weeks, Paris Saint-Germain made an offer to Atlético Madrid striker Julián Álvarez but asked to postpone all formal negotiations until after their Champions League final against Arsenal, reports Diario Sport. Following their win in a penalty shootout, they will now make a move and are aware that Atlético are demanding well over €100 million. PSG could further intensify their efforts to sign the 26-year-old, as they are expected to miss out on RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande to Liverpool. Mundo Deportivo suggest that Barcelona have made a €100m offer.
Bisseck still on Bayern’s radar despite reports to the contrary (Sport Bild’s Christian Falk)
Per this report, Bayern Munich is still eyeing Inter Milan center-back Yann Bisseck:
✅ It is TRUE: Yann Bisseck is an option on Bayern’s transfer shortlist for the summer window. I heard that Bayern Munich have a close connection to Inter Milan. So, they’ve asked what a potential fee would look like and how much he’d cost. Inter are looking for about €40m [£34.6m]. Bayern are searching, but they aren’t hellbent on trying to get a deal right now, as they have to sell a defender before bringing in a centre-back. It’s still Min-jae Kim that FC Bayern are thinking of selling. They’re looking for €30m [£25.9m]. So, you see, there’s a small gap to Bisseck. The German is a very good player and is normally in the national side. He’s not at the World Cup only because it was a really close race with Newcastle’s Malick Thiaw. Thiaw made it and, as you can imagine, Yann Bisseck was really disappointed, given he’d also secured the double with Inter (winning the Serie A a second time and the cup). It’s really hard for him to stay at home. He’s a really interesting player for Bayern, but only if they can sell someone.
Multiple clubs lining up for Rashford (ESPN)
Arsenal, Chelsea, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur are all interested in Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford:
Arsenal, Chelsea, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur are among the clubs keeping an eye on developments regarding Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford, as reported by The Mirror. The 28-year-old’s future is uncertain due to a breakdown in communication between the Red Devils and Barcelona, who have an option to sign him for €30 million after his loan, but now want to renegotiate after signing Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon for an initial €70 million. However, Man United won’t accept any change to the deal and are considering turning their backs on the Blaugrana.
There was some thought that Rashford might be of interest to Bayern Munich, but that does not appear to be the case (at least not as of now).
Options drying up for Goretzka? (Football Italia)
Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka will be a free agent next month and — all of a sudden — his options could be drying up after Juventus missed Champions League qualification and AC Milan had a massive organization restructuring:
Leon Goretzka had been on the verge of an agreement to join Milan from Bayern Munich this summer, but the Rossoneri have since gone stale on the matter and Juventus are also uncertain following their failure to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
Wednesday’s report claims that Goretzka’s representatives have begun discussing a potential move with a number of ‘top’ sides across Europe, including the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Juventus.
Juventus had reportedly sought information regarding a potential deal for Goretzka earlier in the season, and were not put off by potential wage demands in the region of €6m-€7m per season.
However, like Milan, Juventus also failed to qualify for the Champions League in the final few weeks of the season, and for that reason, the Bianconeri are said to be taking their time before offering out major contracts, knowing that they will have to spend wisely without access to Europe’s premier competition and the revenues that come with it.
Goretzka is already well-aware that he will have to take a pay cut, but now he needs some new clubs to look at for his future.
Vlahović leaving Juventus (Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano)
Dušan Vlahović is leaving Juventus because he wants a bigger salary:
🚨🔚 Dusan Vlahović will leave Juventus as free agent this summer, club confirms. 💣
Juventus director Chiellini: “I’m sad, I wanted Dusan to stay as he cares about out club… but wants 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐲”.
“At current salary conditions, he will NOT stay in Italy”.
Vlahović has been linked to Bayern Munich, but it is unclear if the Bavarians are a realistic option…until you look at Vlahović’s salary, which is a total package of €27 million per Capology. €22,220,000 salary + €5,560,000 bonus.
Brother…good luck with that.
