Well, it’s over now. Venezuela wins, Team USA is the runner-up once again, Japan shockingly wasn’t in either of those prior clauses, and we’re stuck with Spring Training for about another week.
Did this WBC change your opinion of the event? Was it better, or worse, than you expected?
I was pretty meh on the pool play format given two teams of five advancing in each pool, which felt like it was going to water down the proceedings a bit… but I ended up really enjoying the days of wall-to-wall pool play.
Team Italy was a hilarious development that mostly kept on giving. I wish the Netherlands had better pitching. So, yeah, I had a good time. Pure Spring Training will seem extra-awful by comparison. What about you?
