The Syracuse Orange host the Bye Week University Fightin’ Byes and you can throw the records out when these teams meet. It’s weird that these schools have played so frequently and yet there is no video
footage out there…..anyway let’s get to our picks.
Kevin: Syracuse 51, Bye Week U 9
The Orange come out throwing and Rickie Collins hits his first 10 attempts leading to two early scores. After a fumble by Van Dillari, it’s the Syracuse ground game that takes over the rest of the afternoon. Yasin Willis, Jaden Hart and Malachi Coleman all go over 100 yards as the Orange keep the clock moving on this one. The Fightin Byes get a 4th quarter touchdown from Wakhari Jilliams and field goal from Wripp Toody to break up the Syracuse shutout.
Dom: Syracuse 35, Bye Week U 6
An early pick six has the Fighting Byes thinking they can go for the knockout, but the passing game redeems itself and steals the show. Cohntay Jook and Sustus Joss-Rimmons both return to the “You Got Mossed!” reel, while the defense finally stops letting its opponents get 5-6 yards of scrimmage on first down. The Fighting Byes win the field goal battle but lose the game.
