Bayern Munich has already completed one transfer this summer, officially bring in Gambinos Stars Africa talent Bara Sapoko Ndiaye on loan. The Bavarians now seem on the verge of completing their second
loan deal of the January transfer window already. According to German reporter Florian Plettenberg, goalkeeper Daniel Peretz set to leave first loan station Hamburger SV and join up with Championship side Southamption despite some small complications:
Southampton are closing in on the signing of Daniel Peretz. 25 y/o is scheduled to travel this evening, with his medical set to be completed tomorrow. Understand Southampton will pay a €400,000 loan fee directly to Bayern for a loan deal until the end of the season, which includes a purchase option of around €8m in summer. Deal was never in danger.
Peretz had struggled for game time at Hamburg, garnering just 210 minutes over two DFB Pokal matches in the Bundesliga side’s Hinrunde. Meanwhile, Southampton’s first choice goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu has come under a lot of pressure and criticism, conceding 38 goals in 26 games. On paper, the transfer makes sense.
Additionally, if the Championship side were to trigger the €8m option to buy, Bayern would net a fairly decent profit from the €5m they paid to sign him from Maccabi Tel Aviv in 2023.
