Welcome to Midnight Mania!
Let’s start the night off by taking a look back over the three biggest stories of Monday, Oct. 6, 2025.
- Cory Sandhagen issues statement on UFC 320 loss to Merab, draws surprising reaction from Chuck Norris : I feel that Sandhagen fought well and brought a strong game plan to the cage. With a champion like Merab though, the margins for victory are so slim, and getting rocked so badly in the second killed his chances at the upset. A respectable showing all the same!
- The Rock issues statement after ‘Smashing Machine’ bombs at box office — ‘You can’t control results’: The Rock can afford to have his name attached to one film that loses money after a decade of home runs.
- UFC 320 results: Sooo … About last night | Ankalaev vs. Pereira 2: How does UFC 320 rank for you in terms of your favorite PPV events of 2025? I really enjoyed it, personally.
Insomnia
At first, I was like yeah that was pretty cool … then the real boom dropped,
along with my jaw! Jimkelly Saint Perry just scored an all-time great knockout for his first amateur victory in his seventh try, bringing his record to 1-5 (1) overall.
It would be impossible to pick Jiri Prochazka in the would-be trilogy match up vs. Alex Pereira, but I love that “BJP” wants the chance so badly. Major respect between fighters and camps!
Another good show of respect after UFC 320 from both sides.
Bare knuckle boxing is absolute carnage, look at those faces.
After a 21-fight pro career that included stints in UFC and PFL, “The Crotchet Boss” Maurice Greene is moving on to better things.
Daniel Cormier’s signature technique on display, the golf swing finish to the high crotch takedown. Note how “DC” doesn’t lift straight up, he rotates his opponent over his hip.
Slips, rips, and KO clips
Two fighters trade power shots, one gets his head off the center line.
It’s rare to see hammer fists land so effectively from within the guard.
Low kicks are one of the sport’s best answers to movement-based fighters.
Random Land
The scientific method on display.
