Barcelona lost Pedri to injury this week as Hansi Flick’s side saw another key player sidelined for several weeks.
According to Diario AS, Pedri’s injury has left Barcelona “stunned and dismayed” and has set
off “alarm bells” at the club as their ongoing injury crisis continues.
The report adds that “the anger at the club is immense” and the spotlight is very much on Julio Tous, the head of physical conditioning, and Raúl Martínez, the head of physiotherapy.
Barcelona had been hoping that the two men could help ease their injury problems, and indeed Pedri had appeared to have put his physical issues behind him until now.
The midfielder has spoken about the changes he has made to his training regime, explaining that he “doesn’t lift weights anymore; it’s more stretching with bands.”
Meanwhile, Tous had even promised to deliver a 50% reduction in muscle injuries but has instead seen a host of stars forced out of action in the 2025-26 season.
Barcelona are said to be viewing the situation with “great concern” and are adamant that the current spate of injuries “must be stopped at all costs
