Thursday brought some big-time news to the college football world and the Kentucky Wildcats as the SEC announced they will be moving to nine conference games starting next year.
It has long been assumed that if this came to fruition, UK would be ending the series with Louisville. However, with the rule included that each team must keep one Power Conference team on the schedule, the BBN will still get to see the Cards come to Kroger Field next season.
So, who does that take off the schedule? Well, we
now know.
According to FBSchedules.com, the game that UK has moved will be against the Kent State Golden Flashes. The game scheduled between the two programs has been moved to 2030.
With the news of the Flashes being moved off the schedule, that leaves the Cats with UofL, Youngstown State, and South Alabama as the non-conference opponents for the UK football team next season.
Now we wait to see who the three permanent opponents will be for the Cats each season. We still have some time to figure it out, but at least we know who will not be coming to Lexington next season.
