Terence Crawford has been on location for this weekend’s big even in Egypt and while talking to Ring Magazine about the upcoming heavyweight fight between Oleksandr Usyk vs Rico Verhoeven and some other subjects, Crawford also adds that he’s still content with his decision to retire from boxing.
Crawford on Usyk vs Rico
“I think [Usyk’s] going to go out there and do whatever he want to do. I think Rico is going to be tough at first, but I think Usyk with his experience is going to figure him out early…[Usyk is] used to the pressure,
Usyk been having a lot of pressure on him since the Olympics…it’s no pressure for him.”
On fans who want to see him continue fighting
“That’s part of boxing, when you retire with a lot left in the tank, they want you to come back. But, for me, I don’t have nothing to prove, I don’t have nothing to gain so therefore I’m happily retired.”
On Errol Spence returning to fight Tim Tszyu
“I think Errol going to do an amazing job. I’m looking forward to Errol getting back into the ring and I think he’s going to be successful in his comeback, and I picked him to win.”
