Do you ever get nervous when games like this Friday’s are coming up? You don’t? Nah, you’re lying.
Mizzou heads to possibly the worst place imaginable – Lawrence, kansas – this coming weekend to play possibly the worst institution in the United States education system – the University of kansas – in a game of American football. And I have every reason to believe Mizzou will win. Heck, I happened to find myself talking to a Jayhawk fan the other day (true story:) “Y’all have more talent than we do.”
And you know, I think that matters!
Still, though, this Friday’s game is one of those where it kind of represents a double-whammy scenario for Mizzou. Yes, winning is an important step in the road to a successful 2026 season and it’s always nice to remind the chicken hawks of their place in the pecking order. But a loss in Lawrence not only derails Mizzou in a fairly significant way… it means a year of having to realize, “ah hell, we lost to kansas.”
FanDuel seems to think we don’t have too much to worry about – a -6.5 spread in favor of the road team this early in the year is a confident line from the oddsmakers. But oddsmakers don’t control the fates of sporting events, only the Lord.
