If there was ever a sign that Seattle Seahawks receiver Rashid Shaheed will not miss any game time after last Sunday’s concussion, the Wednesday injury report is the best news possible to wrap up 2025.
Unlike Tuesday, which was a walkthrough, the Seahawks had a normal practice on Wednesday, and Shaheed was a full participant. Shaheed left the win over the Carolina Panthers in the first quarter, when Mike Jackson Sr. slung him into a member of the Panthers staff while out of bounds. No flag was thrown,
Shaheed was initially ruled questionable before he was declared out in the 2nd half.
Given the season-ending injury to Cody White and rookie receiver Tory Horton still not back from his shin injury, Seattle can’t really afford to have the receiving group depleted at both the top and bottom end of the depth chart. We won’t know until Thursday whether or not Shaheed will play, but this is encouraging news.
On the surface, Josh Jones not practicing due to his ankle and knee injuries sounds worrisome, but Mike Macdonald indicated in his media availability that he should be able to play. There’s even a non-zero chance Charles Cross could return, although two days as a DNP with a hamstring injury means that non-zero is a lot closer to zero than even 50 percent.
Safety Coby Bryant was a DNP with a knee injury, which raises questions about whether or not he’ll miss a second straight game with his knee injury. Other than that, this is a pretty clean injury report!
On the San Francisco 49ers’ side, left tackle Trent Williams might be sitting out the last game given the hamstring injury came against the Chicago Bears last weekend. Cornerback Renardo Green seems to be in line to return to the lineup after missing some time with a neck injury. We’ll see about rookie corner Upton Stout after being limited with a concussion in the Bears game.
