The Eagles season is in a bad way, which sucks. It also means you’re probably paying a bit more attention to NFL Draft lists. Here are some players to watch this weekend.
Charlie Becker, Wide Receiver, Indiana v. Ohio State (12 PM ET on Fox)
While everyone is rightfully talking about Jeremiah Smith as the best player in the country, he won’t be the only first round hopeful receiver in this ranked showdown. With Elijah Sarratt and Omar Cooper in the NFL, Charlie Becker has stepped up as Indiana’s most
dynamic pass catcher. Becker is strong, dependable, and a good athlete. If Indiana wants to come out of this Big 10 showdown with a win, Becker will need to make some big plays.
Princewill Umanmielen, Edge Defender v. Mississippi State (12 PM ET on ESPN)
The Eagles are going to need some edge rushing reinforcements in the 2027 draft. Princewill Umanmielen had a really good junior season at Ole Miss and is following it up with a brilliant year at LSU. He’s a ferocious pass rusher and LSU will need every bit of his talents to slow down Kamario Taylor.
Dejaun Lane, Cornerback, Tennessee v. Alabama (3:30 PM ET on ABC)
Alabama is coming off a tough loss to Georgia and needs to rebound against Tennessee if they want to stay in the playoff race. The Crimson Tide offense has a lot of juice, and Dejaun Lane will be tasked with slowing them down. The athletic, long armed cornerback will need to keep Ryan Williams Coleman in check if the Vols want the upset.
Austin Simmons, Quarterback, Missouri v. Ole Miss (3:30 PM ET on SECN)
While we’re all panicking about the Eagles quarterback health, here’s a mid round name to know. Austin Simmons went from losing his job to Trinidad Chambliss to being one of the best quarterbacks in college football. Simmons has good size and tools, and has looked really confident in the Mizzou offense this year. He’s been accurate, poised, and creative. This game has the makings of a shootout and Simmons will have plenty of opportunities to impress.
Leonard Moore, Cornerback, Notre Dame v. BYU (7:30 PM ET on ABC)
Could you imagine getting a stud corner to play across from Quinyon Mitchell with Cooper DeJean in the slot? Leonard Moore might be one of the two best defenders in the country. He’s a great athlete who can run with anyone and bring it in run defense. BYU’s offense has been causing problems all season and will challenge Notre Dame’s defense. Moore having a great game will solidify his high draft stock and help the Irish get a big win.
