The Eagles play the Giants in Week 8, and will take the field without A.J. Brown, who was ruled out for a hamstring injury. The wide receiver didn’t practice three days in a row, and despite Nick Sirianni
saying Brown is a guy who could play without any practice during the week, ultimately, they decided to keep him inactive on Sunday.
While the timing of the injury is less than ideal — not that there’s ever a good time for an injury, but amid trade speculation and after his best performance of the season, Brown being sidelined has done nothing but fuel rumors. Still, the Eagles have been clear that they don’t intend to trade their top receiver, not to mention the dead cap costs wouldn’t make sense for them to move him.
Several reports indicate that not only are the Eagles not trading Brown, but they expect him to be able to return to the field following the Week 9 bye.
The Eagles offense finally got into a rhythm (at times) against the Vikings in Week 7, and A.J. Brown being on the field is a major factor for both the passing game and run game. Hopefully, Brown is able to get back on the field sooner rather than later, and his hamstring injury isn’t something that continues to bother him throughout the rest of the season.
