Barcelona new boy Rodri has showered praise on captain Raphinha and revealed he’s the player who has surprised him the most since arriving at Camp Nou.
Raphinha has enjoyed a stunning start to the season with Barcelona, scoring eight times and bagging three assists to fire Hansi Flick’s side to a perfect start.
Rodri has now explained why he finds his new team-mate so impressive in a new interview with Mundo Deportivo.
“Raphinha has surprised me immensely. It’s not that I wasn’t surprised by what a player
he is, but he’s an impressive player, the form he’s in,” he said.
“Plus, I laugh because he’s my age and seems to have incredible physical capabilities… It’s true we’re different types of players, that’s clear, but anyone would understand that if he were 24 or 25 he’d pass for me.
“But no, he’s 30 like me and he has this incredible ability.”
Raphinha’s impressive performances this season has already seen him scoop La Liga’s Player of the Month award for August, and Barcelona will be hoping he can maintain his early season form throughout the campaign.
