Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham talked to the press after the team’s 2-1 win over Barcelona in El Clásico. Bellingham scored the game-winning goal and completed a brilliant performance to lead Real Madrid towards
building a five-point lead over Barça.
“It’s a very important victory for us. We’re very happy and it’s a good day. We all put in a huge effort. That’s why we deserve the three points. In the first half, we were really decisive with the ball. Every time we had possession, it ended with a good shot or something positive. In the second half, it was more defensive work. Militão, Huijsen, Carreras and Carvajal when he came on were very good. But it was a magnificent performance from the whole team,” he said.
Bellingham also wanted to thank the fans for their continued support.
“My goodness. This victory is also for the fans. Last year we played badly in the big games and today this victory was for everyone: players, staff, fans…” he added.
The British midfielder concluded his media appearance by discussing his current form and his performance in El Clásico.
“These are my favorite goals. A lot of people say it’s luck, but for me it’s how I understand the game. When the ball goes here or there, position changes everything and I’m always ready if it comes to me. Militão got his head to it and then I was there to score. I feel very good. I’ve worked hard these past few months with the physios and in the gym. I’m very happy now because I feel great and ready for what’s to come,“ he said.
