Saturday, May 16, 2026, former New Orleans Saints and soon to be NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Brees received an honorary Doctor of Business from the Mitch Daniels School of Business at Purdue University.
Brees attended Purdue from 1997-2001. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Management in 2001. During his time with the Boilermakers, he set 19 Purdue University and 13 Big Ten Conference records which included passing yards (11,792), touchdown passes (90), total offensive yards (12,693),
completions (1,026), and attempts (1,678) as well as 2 NCAA records. Brees was also two-time Heisman Trophy finalist (1999 and 2000) and two-time Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year.
In 2009, Brees was inducted into Purdue’s Intercollegiate Athletics Hall of Fame.
Brees will officially be inducted to the 2026 Class of the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday, August 8 in Canton, OH.
