Recruiting:
Some good news for FSU as Five-Star CB Chuck Kennon updated his recruitment with Zach Blostein of Noles247 to say he’s locked in with Florida State.
Even if FSU does eventually make a change at head coach, Kennon feels like he’s a Seminole fan first and that his fandom and love for the program will lead him to sign with the ‘Noles regardless.
“I’m a Seminole fan at the end of the day. I love Florida State. No matter the coaching staff, I feel like I’d still be where I’m at,” Kennon stated.
Kennon has
been impressive on both sides of the ball in his senior season so far:
Football:
It’s likely that FSU’s four losses all coming in one-score games, two in which they’ve outgained their opponent and three in which their down-to-down success rate was also higher than their opponent, is a reason ESPN’s FPI metric still has FSU as the fifth-best team in the conference.
But at some point you are what your record says you are and FSU is 0-4 in the ACC.
Looking at the top four names on this list; you have to wonder if athletic departments are going to start looking at ways to reduce these new contracts because essentially one man now has a number of high-profile athletic departments at his mercy.

Part 2 of the 2025-2026 preview with Coach Loucks is here where defines what success would look like for Florida State in Year 1 of the new era.
If we can build our foundation and build a brand of basketball that, when you play Florida State, you know it’s going to be a tough, tough team to play. They compete, they play a style that’s really tough to guard and defensively, they play a style that’s going to disrupt you. I’m never one to get ahead of, like, we have to win this many games. I told you guys when I took the job, I want to compete for championships every year. So you guys know where I stand on that. I’m never going to come in and be like, “If we go above .500, we’re going to be (good).” No, no, no. I’m here to win and I’m here to compete for championships, but there are certain stepping stones that you have to install and implement in your guys. The roster is going to change. You guys know the roster turnover, but as long as I coach here, we’re gonna be a really tough team to beat.
