It’s time for a roster contest!
Here’s the deal. I’ll list the Commanders’ late round draft picks (everyone taken after the 4th round) and several UDFA players who were in college a few months ago along with a select group of veteran players who are on the roster bubble.
You predict which ones will make the team or practice squad, and which ones won’t.
It’s that simple.
Note: I first ran this competition annually from 2017 to 2019. With the coming of COVID-era football in 2020, with its smaller rosters
and the return of multiple roster cutdown dates, the contest went on hiatus for Ron Rivera’s entire tenure. In truth, with the restoration of the single-cutdown to 53 player in 2023, I should have resurrected the contest then, but, if you recall, we had an awful lot going on at that time. In any event, having reinstated it in 2024, welcome to the 5th installment of the contest.

That’s 18 players — 2 draft picks, 3 offensive UDFAs, 5 defensive UDFAs & 8 veterans
Make a prediction for each of these 18 guys and score points. Here’s how it’ll work:
- For each player, simply predict “Team”, “Practice Squad” or “Cut” using the entry form at the link provided below
- Any of the 18 players above who is listed on the 53-man roster, PUP list, IR list or NFI list will count as “team”.
- Players on the Practice Squad should be self-explanatory.
- Everyone else, will be deemed to be “cut”.
- Each correct prediction will earn you points; each wrong prediction loses you points
- Picks need to be made by 7:00 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time, 26 August 2025. Note that entries will not be accepted if submitted after the Commanders publicly announce ANY roster moves following the end of the Ravens game, regardless of the original deadline.
- The results will be determined based on the status of these 18 players on Thursday, 4 September 2025, at 5 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time. In case of confusion or dispute, Bill-in-Bangkok will be the final arbiter of each player’s status.
- If you want to update or change your predictions, just fill in another entry; I will use the last eligible posted entry that you submit.

Prizes
Your reward for the top score in the Roster Contest will be bragging rights for 12 full months. This, at one time, included the opportunity to list “Roster Contest Champion, 2025” in your signature line in perpetuity; sadly, the signature line is a relic of days gone by.
