The Cleveland Browns had one of the worst receiver rooms in the league last season. GM Andrew Berry has drafted many receivers, and yet, only Ced Tillman is the lone player he selected that hasn’t been cut. Jamari Thrash remains on the roster but was released last year, then re-signed.
Other than that, Berry’s answer was to trade with other teams for their veteran receivers and try to solve the ineptness of the group.

This worked with Amari Cooper for a couple
of years, and then Jerry Jeudy made the Pro Bowl in his first year while with Cleveland. Elijah Moore was a bust.
However, Jeudy had a big drop in production last year. The rest of the receiver room was horrible and didn’t give the offense much to sing about. With this being known, Berry will need to draft at least two receivers in this year’s NFL draft, slated for April 23-24.
Berry could take a receiver in the first round, or at the very least, in the first three rounds. Later, an intriguing prospect should be available in the sixth round.
Tyren Montgomery was a complete unknown until he showed up at the Senior Bowl and blew everybody away. He caught everything thrown his way. He came to this All-Star game as an undrafted prospect and now has at least a Round 6 grade and would not surprise anyone to see him go in the fifth-round.
Several excellent receivers have been taken on Days 2 and 3, such as T.J. Houshmandzadeh (Round 7), Terry McLaurin (3), Marques Colston (7), Raymond Berry (20), Tyreek Hill (5), Mac Speedie (15), Antonio Brown (6), Amon-Ra St. Brown (4), Cooper Kupp (3), Clifton McNeil (11), Jauan Jennings (7), Bobby Mitchell (7), Romeo Doubs (4), Puka Nacua (5), and Steve Largent (4).
Montgomery broke the school records for single-season catches, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns. He scored 17 TDs in his final college season.
