Newcastle United are exploring a potential summer move for a Real Madrid forward, according to a report from TEAMtalk.
22-year-old Gonzalo Garcia has emerged as a target as Newcastle continue their search for a forward-line boost ahead of the 2026–27 season.
TEAMtalk reports that Newcastle are already doing some groundwork on a possible deal as they look to reshape their squad following last summer’s sale of Alexander Isak and the glaring underperformance of both Yoane Wissa and Nick Woltemade.
Garcia
has featured regularly for Real Madrid this season, making 38 appearances across all competitions. His record includes 10 goals and one assist in 1,636 minutes. In LaLiga, he has scored four goals in 23 appearances, while adding four goals in six matches at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
The Spanish under-21 international previously played at Real Madrid Castilla and has since broken into the senior setup. However, competition for places at the Santiago Bernabeu has limited his starting opportunities, and depending on how he sees his future at the club, he might seek an exit.
Despite Newcastle’s interest, however, Real Madrid do not seem interested in selling their youngster. That said, and as always, the ultimate call will fall on Garcia.
