Wrianna Hudson has made her presence known since arriving at Florida State in 2024, developing from a promising freshman into a national champion and one of the Seminoles’ biggest offensive threats.
Now in her junior season, Hudson continues to make an impact on the front line. Through 11 games, including 10 starts, she has played 707 minutes and scored five goals.
Hudson has also recorded 29 shots, including 20 on goal, consistently creating scoring opportunities for the Seminoles. She recently found
the back of the net against No. 4 Wake Forest, helping secure a 2-0 victory for FSU.
During an Aug. 10 media availability, Hudson discussed the importance of bringing energy and aggressiveness to the field.
“We should always be the loudest team on the field, and also just aggressiveness,” Hudson said. “Just like going out there and just putting your all into every tackle, every run, just like being more of a beast out there.”
Hudson’s success at Florida State did not happen overnight.
The Rochester, New York, native arrived in Tallahassee in 2024 and wasted little time making an impact. During her freshman season, she appeared in all 21 games, starting seven, while recording nine goals and six assists.
Her contributions helped Florida State capture the 2024 ACC Tournament Championship, where Hudson scored the game-winning goal against North Carolina. Her debut season earned her ACC All-Freshman Team recognition and the 2024-25 Golden Nole Female Rookie of the Year award.
Hudson carried that momentum into her sophomore season, becoming an even bigger offensive weapon for Florida State.
In 2025, she appeared in all 22 games, making 14 starts and playing 1,192 minutes. She led the Seminoles with 15 goals, including five game-winners, and added one assist.
Her biggest moment came in the 2025 National Championship game against Stanford.
With the game scoreless late in the second half, Hudson found the back of the net in the 87th minute, giving Florida State a 1-0 lead. Her goal proved to be the difference as the Seminoles secured their fifth national championship in program history.
Her postseason performance earned her College Cup Offensive Most Outstanding Player honors. She also received United Soccer Coaches All-Region Fourth Team and Second Team All-ACC recognition following her sophomore season.
Long before arriving in Tallahassee, Hudson had already made a name for herself on the soccer field.
During her high school career at Greece Athena in Rochester, she earned ECNL All-America honors, All-Greater Rochester Player of the Year recognition, and numerous all-region and all-conference accolades.
She also landed the No. 1 spot on ESPN’s SportsCenter Top 10 with a goal against Canandaigua on Sept. 29, 2023.
Watch the highlight:
With several players departing following the national championship season, Hudson has also taken on the responsibility of helping lead a team with new faces.
During the Aug. 10 media availability, Hudson discussed how the Seminoles are working together to help the incoming players adjust.
“Our coaches set us up very, very well,” Hudson said. “We have a leadership committee, and like our whole purpose for this year is now that so many seniors have gone, just to be more vocal for the incoming players so we can like really lead them, and like it’s just a collective group effort.”
Despite the changes to the roster, Hudson remains confident in her teammates and what the Seminoles can accomplish this season.
“I believe we have a really good team this year,” Hudson said. “We’re all together. Like we know what we need to do, and I know we have some fighters on our team. So I don’t think it’s going to be that hard at all.”
The Seminoles will look to continue their momentum when they take on Notre Dame at home on Saturday, Oct. 24, with kickoff set for 7 p.m.
