Dani Olmo has spoken about his injury frustrations at Barcelona while on international duty with Spain for World Cup qualifiers against Turkey and Georgia.
The 27-year-old has once again been sidelined this season due to physical issues and has seen Fermin Lopez play a starring role in his absence.
Barcelona are thought to have come up with a special fitness plan in a bid to keep Olmo on the pitch, and he says he’s doing all he can to try and find the right balance.
“It’s not pleasant to have your name
associated with so many injuries. Ultimately, I’m following a training method to prevent these situations,” he told Onda Cero.
“I believe, one hundred percent, that it’s working well for me; in the end, it’s football, and you can’t control everything. I want to train more on the field and in the gym for injury prevention. It’s about finding a balance of what’s working.”
Olmo was back in the starting XI last time out for Barcelona against Celta Vigo and is likely to get more minutes with Spain over the next week.
