Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany did not love the final result during his team’s 3-3 draw, but was — at least — happy to come out of the contest with no further injuries.
“We always have to respect the opponent. This do or die situation gives teams a lot of strength sometimes. Everything went well for Heidenheim in the first half, but not for us. I understand that not everything can always be perfect, but the way we’ve managed to come back again and again is not a given. Now this game is over,
everyone is fit. That’s what we wanted. Now we can focus on Wednesday,” said Kompany (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Bayern Munich’s focus now will shift its focus to that aforementioned Champions League tilt vs. Paris Saint-Germain. The Bavarians will need everyone as healthy and fresh as possible for PSG. If the squad is focused, it should be well-poised to make up that 5-4 deficit.
