UFC 332 was recently made official for Sat., Oct. 3, 2026 at Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. The promotion struggled to find marquee talent for the five-round main event and had to settle for the vacant flyweight title fight pitting Natalia Silva against Wang Cong.
If there’s one thing fans (and fighters) hate more than flyweights, it’s women’s MMA.
“About the criticism, it’s a little annoying,” former flyweight champion, Deiveson Figueiredo, told MMA Fighting. “But I’m sure that all the fighters
the UFC put on the card are ready to have a great fight, you know? And what looks weak can become strong. I’m sure — especially me, man, I’m ready to have a great fight. I admit that I didn’t expect [to co-headline], but there were some complications on the card, and I moved up to do the co-main event. I’m happy, man. Once again I see the UFC valuing me, giving me great fights, great cards, always fighting on the main card — when it’s not main event, it’s the co-main event.”
Figueiredo battles bantamweight wunderkind Payton Talbott.
“He has excellence in striking,” Figueiredo said. “But I see myself as a guy with more excellence. If I fight at my level, aggressively, I’m sure I’m going to go right at him, and with great chances of knocking him out. But I can also do the grappling style. I’m a guy who trains all areas, so anything can happen in this fight. I’m prepared to have a great fight against him.”
The 38-year-old Figueiredo (25-7-1) needs a win in the worst way possible, having dropped four of his last five while getting stopped in two of those losses. To be fair, all four defeats have come against the best of the best, but “Daico” is facing a red-hot Talbott (11-1) coming off back-to-back wins over Felipe Lima and Henry Cejudo.
