Rutgers defensive tackle Darold DeNgohe has announced his intentions to enter the transfer portal. He transferred to the Scarlet Knights from James Madison last offseason and will be looking for his third team in three years this offseason. Rutgers interior defensive line will be undergoing a lot of change this off-season, as it, much like the rest of the defense, lacked the talent needed to compete against Big Ten calibur opponents. In addition to that, defensive line coach Colin Ferrel was dismissed
by the team earlier this offseason, and his replacement is yet to be hired.
During his one season playing for Rutgers, the 6-foot-2, 298-pound Junior from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, played in the first four games of the season before missing the rest with an injury. He was a rotational piece during those four games, as he totaled seven total tackles. His best game of the season came against Iowa, where he had one solo tackle, two total tackles, and one quarterback hurry.
DeNgohe was a solid player in the group of five during his time with the Dukes. In 2024, DeNgohe totaled 28 tackles, six tackles for loss, and one sack. He also added a blocked kick to his stats.
DeNgohe was a low three-star when the Dukes recruited him out of high school, as he was rated as the No.208 defensive lineman in the 2023 recruitment class.
He will enter the portal with two years of eligibility remaining.
