Rumors for the Day:
- Stephen A. Smith claimed on First Take that Nick Khan talked to him about doing a story in WWE.
- According to Fightful Select, it was Chris Jericho’s call to have AEW start introducing him simply as “Jericho” upon his return. But the report says it’s not a full name change, and he’ll be still be referred to as “Chris Jericho” as well.
- On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer mentioned the Pat McAfee promoted discount for night one WrestleMania 42 tickets did lead to some movement of over 1,200 tickets being sold. However, night two, which he said not to buy tickets for, moved even better at over 1,400.
- Fightful says WrestleMania 42 preparations started earlier than normal this year, with rehearsals started sooner than fans typically see.
- They also say WWE is not stopping talent from speaking publicly in interviews about the Pat McAfee/Randy Orton/Cody Rhodes storyline.
- Per WrestleVotes, WWE hopes Nikki Bella will be cleared in time for WrestleMania but if she won’t they will simply throw another team in the women’s tag title match.
