Illinois fans seem to have a hate for Michigan hoops and major energy when the Wolverines come to town. Students camp out all day to be
the first ones in the arena.

CBS Sports writer Tom Fornelli, before Michigan trounced Illinois 84-70 on Friday, said that the two teams aren’t rivals because Michigan lost the previous nine matchups.
While Michigan may be 20-29 all-time versus Illinois, there’s no doubt that Illinois fans have a fervor and deep disdain towards Michigan. SB Nation’s Illinois Blog, The Champaign Room, actually wrote an article saying that Michigan vs. Illinois is indeed a rivalry.
