The Cleveland Browns head into their Week 5 matchup with the New York Jets with injury concerns, especially on the defensive line. With fans feeling more confident and some worried about a trap game, injuries tend to be a huge story throughout most of the NFL season, and this week will be no different.
The home Jets have had their own injury issues with four players sitting out the first two practices of the week, including RB Breece Hall, OL Dylan Parham, and WR Adonai Mitchell. With New York playing
better, but still sitting with a 1-3 record, Week 5 just got more difficult for the green and white:
Hall, Parham, and Mitchell are all starters for the Jets offense.
Hall leads the team in rushing with 163 yards, despite only playing three games. His backup, Braelon Allen, has just 120 yards in four contests. Mitchell is New York’s big play receiver, leading the team with a 13.7 yards-per-catch average and is fourth on the team with 123 yards receiving.
According to the Jets’ unofficial depth chart, Jordan Meredith will start in Parham’s place. Meredith has started 21 games in his five-year career after going undrafted out of Western Kentucky.
WRs Malik McClain, Isaiah Williams, and Jamaal Pritchett fill out the depth chart behind star WR Garrett Wilson. Of the three backups, only Williams has caught a pass this year, 10 for 135 yards and a touchdown.
We will have the official injury reports later this afternoon when they are released.
How big of a deal do you think these 3 offensive players being out will be for Week 5?
