The New England Patriots continue being trade-happy in the 2026 NFL Draft. After already trading the 191st overall selection to the Jacksonville Jaguars in return for the 196th pick as well as a seventh-round choice, they also moved down from pick No. 198.
Executive vice president of player personnel Eliot Wolf, who is running the show in the draft room with Mike Vrabel on personal leave, sent the selection to the Minnesota Vikings for the 234th pick in Round 7 as well as a sixth-round selection in 2027.
The Patriots’ remaining draft portfolio this year, meanwhile, looks as follows:
- Round 6, Pick 212
- Round 7, Pick 224
- Round 7, Pick 234 (from Vikings)
- Round 7, Pick 245 (from Jaguars)
The Patriots had originally acquired the 198th pick in a trade with the 49ers. New England sent defensive lineman Keion White to San Francisco in return for the selection.
The Vikings subsequently used the pick on Wake Forest running back Demond Claiborne.
