Dana White said he never wanted to get involved with politics but that may change now that President Donald Trump has come calling.
On Saturday, Trump posted on Truth Social that he’s offered the job of press secretary to White while also name dropping several fighters he’d like to see as assistants.
“I am pleased to announce that the Great Dana White, a violent Fighter and Warrior, has been offered the job of Press Secretary of the United States,” Trump wrote. “I have requested that he bring with
him assistants, even though some are not from our Country, of Islam Makhachev, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Justin Gaethje, Daniel Cormier, Amanda Nunes, and Kayla Harris.
“We need these people to defend us against the Lunatic Left. Dana will be a Press Secretary like none other. Dana, please take the job!”
White responded with a photo on Instagram showing him in the Oval Office along with the message “on to the next chapter.”
There’s been no official announcement if White is actually accepting the job offer.
Trump is seeking a new press secretary after several people have left that role over the past year including Karoline Leavitt and Katie Zacharia. It’s unclear if White would have to give up his role as UFC CEO to take the job if he chooses to accept Trump’s offer.
Of course, Trump has been examining several cabinet roles in the wake of a disastrous election for the president and the Republican party. As of Jan. 1, the Democratic party takes full control of both the House and the Senate after numerous candidates ousted their Republican counterparts.
