What is the story about?

The Germany women’s national team has announced its squad for the upcoming international break, and five Bayern Munich players have been included.

Goalkeeper Ena Mahmutovic has been called up, while Giulia Gwinn and Franziska Kett join her in defense. Klara Bühl and Linda Dallmann complete the quintet.

Elsewhere, starting goalkeeper Ann-Katrin Berger will be rested following consultation with the coaching staff. Whether this means Mahmutovic will play in either of the games remains unclear. Arsenal’s

Bayern also has representation in the U-23 team, with Sarah Mattner and Alara Sehitler being selected. The two join former Bayern goalkeeper Mala Grohs, who now plays for OL Lyonnais.

Germany will play Australia in Karlsruhe on October 9th before facing Japan four days later in Bremen. The Bayern quintet will likely face off against their club teammate Momoko Tanikawa. Meanwhile, the U-23s will play Scotland and Sweden, with each match taking place a day earlier than the senior team’s fixtures.
