Drew McIntyre is the latest WWE superstar to address inappropriate fan behavior after CM Punk made headlines for swatting a phone out of someone’s hands.
While McIntyre showed appreciation towards fan who act respectfully, the Scottish Psychopath made his disdain known for those who cross a line.
The incident involving Punk followed his participation in the main event of WrestleMania 42. Just after midnight local time on April 20, he had an encounter with a fan in a Las Vegas hotel lobby after the person
reportedly continued to film a private moment between Bayley and Punk’s wife, AJ Lee. The person appeared to continue filming on his phone despite Bayley asking him to go away, leading to Punk’s intervention.
In the video, which was shared by TMZ, Punk can be seen walking over and slapping the phone out of the fan’s hands. After a tense moment between the two with security getting involved, Lee leads her husband out the door.
Following the incident, Fightful Select reported speaking unanimously with WWE stars who complained about a lack of security during WrestleMania week. Another report said Damien Priest helped a female star during a situation with a fan, and a video of Randy Orton trying to avoid a mob of fans in a hotel lobby has spread across social media.
Booker T also took unruly fans to task on his podcast on Tuesday. According to Booker, one fan even filmed him in the bathroom.
“They were camped out everywhere! You couldn’t walk anywhere, and they were following you,” Booker said on his Hall of Fame podcast. “In the bathroom, I remember the guy literally was filming me in the bathroom, and when I walked out he goes, ‘Hey, Booker!’ I just kept walking, because I was so mad because he was filming me in the bathroom,”
On Tuesday afternoon, McIntyre also spoke out against fans who don’t respect his privacy.
“For those fans who spent hard earned money on a chance to say hello, take a photo, have something signed, or give me one of my many, many bracelets, I appreciate each and every single one of you,” Drew wrote on X (Twitter).
The former WWE Undisputed Champion continued: “To those who rushed my family and I in the hotel, kept your kids up till 2 am throwing them in front of us, or shoved a camera in my face without asking, you’re lucky I’m a calm natured person outside the ring. Please don’t do that ever again.”
