The Denver Broncos have announced that they have waived defensive tackle Kristian Williams today.
Williams signed as an undrafted free agent after the 2025 NFL Draft. In three seasons at Missouri he started 35 games and totaled 80 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, two sacks, and four forced fumbles. An injury in 2025 preseason led to injured reserve and a later injury settlement. He returned on a reserve/future contract earlier this year.
In my roster review of Williams this summer, I felt the loss of John
Franklin-Myers would open up some possibilities for young guys to make waves.
Despite losing John Franklin-Myers, the Broncos defensive front is still loaded with talent — especially up and coming young talent. That firmly puts Kristian Williams on the outside looking in. He will need to compete his butt off and fight for one of those coveted practice squad slots.
Unfortunately, it looks like Williams still ended up on the outside looking in. He could be a good addition to the practice squad if the coaching staff likes what they saw from his development in training camp.
