Real Madrid left-back Álvaro Carreras talked to the club’s official website alongside goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and the two of them previewed Sunday’s El Clásico against FC Barcelona. This will be Carreras’
first Clásico.
“We’re really looking forward to it. We’re already thinking about Sunday’s match, a fantastic match, at home, with our fans. We know it’s going to be tough but very important El Clásico is a match that every child dreams of playing in. At home, it is always a very beautiful and important match for everyone,” said the Spanish left-back.
Courtois was asked about what advice he’d give Carreras ahead of such a crucial game.
“It’s a great game to play in. He has to play naturally, as he knows how, and play well. He has to enjoy it, that’s the most important thing,” he said.
Courtois also discussed the team’s current form.
“The team is in good shape. We need to recover well and rest so we can be at our best, but I think we’re in good shape and we’re approaching it as an important game,” he added.
