What is the story about?

Week 8 games end with a huge contest between two NFC contenders.

The 5-2 Chicago Bears head to the west coast to take on the 4-3 Seattle Seahawks. Both teams are currently fighting for NFC Wild Card spots, looking up at their respective division leaders (Vikings and 49ers, respectively). As of right now, the Seahawks are just outside the playoff picture, but a win on Monday night could quickly change the outlook of the conference.

For the Detroit Lions, this game oddly has very little impact on the team’s

chances at the playoffs. According to RBSDM.com, the Lions’ playoff odds will remain at 74 percent no matter who wins between these two teams. That’s because, right now, Detroit is battling both for a Wild Card spot.

However, if the goal is winning the division, there is clearly a better outcome for Lions fans. Detroit currently possesses a 31 percent chance to win the NFC North. A Seahawks win pushes that to 34 percent. A Bears win drops it to 26 percent.
