Welcome to Midnight Mania!
Let’s start the night off by taking a look back over the three biggest stories of
- Wake up! Not-topless UFC champ Valentina Shevchenko shuts down sleepy Ronda Rousey for OnlyFans insult: Valentina Shevchenko is always quick to fire back when somebody talks trash. “Bullet” vs. “Rowdy” would’ve been cool a decade ago.
- UFC cuts five fighters in latest roster purge, including pair of Octagon veterans: It always felt like Phil Rowe had the tools to be a better fighter than his actual results.
- ‘Narcissist’ Ronda Rousey reignites beef by unloading on ‘roided-up b—ch’ Cris Cyborg: Clearly, motherhood and years away from the sport have done little to cool Rousey’s inner fire.
Insomnia
So … Valter Walker and Hype Brazil are crazy. While acting as the ring announcer, Walker stepped into the ring and told the competing fighters they were being boring. He demanded they brawl, threatened to cancel the fight, gave a countdown, and then actually called off the bout. What is happening?!?
… afterward, Walker started challenging members of the crowd to fight a random body guard? Does Brazil have an athletic commission?
It’s not a great sign when even Colby Covington is dunking on the White House card … it’s also not a great sign that everybody (myself included) is still saying “The White House Card” instead of Freedom Fighter 250 or whatever.
Patricio Pitbull goes off on Aljamain Sterling for his recent ran and alleged running:
Hype Brazil has been absurd before, after, and during the event.
Cody Durden reacts to a difficult defeat at UFC 326:
Another quality booking at 125 pounds! Is Flyweight the only division that actually feels like it’s getting better rather than stagnating?
The algorithm put a Jonathan Brookins post on my feed today, a name I haven’t thought about in many years. Now, I’ve been sucked into a deep dive on the former TUF champion’s IG page and record. Bit of an unlucky UFC career getting cut after losing to Erik Koch, Charles Oliveira, and Dustin freaking Poirier!
Slips, rips, and KO clips
I love Davey Grant. I think every red-blooded fight fan should love Davey Grant. It’s a shame his career resurgence was so late in his athletic career, but he’s certainly made his time count.
Tremendous example of showing one strike to land another:
That’s how you counter a jab!
Random Land
I am choosing to believe this post is being genuine in its “No AI” claim.
