Good morning A’s fans and happy Monday!
The 2025 World Series continues tonight after an off day yesterday for travel. The series is now tied 1-1 after the Los Angels Dodgers took Game 2 in Toronto. The underdog
Blue Jays needed both of those first two home games and now will be tasked with winning at least one game on the road, no easy task against a Dodgers squad stacked with star power.
Tonight’s contest will see future Hall of Famer Max Scherzer get the ball for the road team. Toronto will be the fourth different team that Scherzer has started a World Series with, which now sets a record for a pitcher and ties it overall:
What a career he’s had and he could add another chapter with a strong showing tonight against the reigning champions. It’s been a rough season overall for Scherzer in his first in Toronto. He dealt with a thumb issue on his pitching hand and then struggled in 17 regular season starts. He’s made one start this October though and looked much more like the Scherzer of old against the Mariners in the ALCS.
The Jays will also be getting some lineup reinforcements in the form of star middle infielder Bo Bichette, who is expected to start Game 3 at second base after sitting out the previous contest:
Any help is welcomed for the Jays especially with the upcoming pitchers the Dodgers have set to start in Los Angeles. Bichette went 1-for-2 in Game 1 with a walk in that blowout win and his presence alone in the lineup is a huge boost to his teammates. They need him if they’re going to pull off this upset.
The Dodgers meanwhile are finally back at home and plan to send righty Tyler Glasnow to the bump for this critical Game 3. The righty has been on fire this postseason, though in limited action. He’s allowed just one run in two starts (3 total appearances), which is exactly the type of production the Dodgers brought him in for. The Jays will need to jump on Glasnow because they’ll have a date with superstar two-way player Shohei Ohtani tomorrow in Game 4. And they can’t afford to fall down 3-1 in this series. But who knows? This is where the series gets interesting folks! First pitch is at 5:00 P.M. sharp tonight.
Have a great week everyone!
