About Hayward Field
The Facility and History
The newly renovated Hayward Field at the University of Oregon is a world-class track and field facility that expanded its capacity to 12,650 seats during a massive 2018–2020 overhaul. Building upon this rich history, the stadium was designed as a “theater for track” featuring a wood roof structure, spacious seating mere feet from the action and a street address that honors donor Phil Knight’s personal best 800-meter time.
A Public Landmark
In addition to providing a fan experience, the facility serves as an elite athletic and academic hub, housing a state-of-the-art sports medicine wing, an indoor practice track, and the university’s Department of Human Physiology. With loads of history made here, Hayward Field offers the perfect stage for this championship meet.

Weather Updates
Conditions look promising for the opening days in Eugene. Wednesday will be sunny with a high of 68 degrees and a low of 47 degrees, perfect for competing. Thursday remains clear and sunny as temperatures climb to a high of 78 degrees with a similar overnight low of 49. Friday will mirror that weather before a massive weekend heatwave spikes Saturday’s temperature up to a scorching high of 91 degrees and a low of 56.
What This Means for the Tigers
For Barrios, this trip to Eugene is personal. As the defending national champion coming off a winning performance at the NCAA West Regionals, she has a crown to defend, and a swarm of Tiger fans are eagerly waiting to see if she can go back-to-back.
With only three Tigers making the trip to the finals, every performance will matter just as much as the next. Facing a high-stakes environment against some of the best athletes, this small but mighty squad must set the tone early for success.
