Arsenal legend Arsène Wenger analyzed El Clásico for BeIN Sports and praised Real Madrid after their 2-1 victory over Barcelona.
“I felt they lost Íñigo Martínez in defense, who was one of the most experienced players… Today it’s clear that the defense against a player like Mbappé lacks maturity and experience. Barcelona, without Raphinha or Lewandowski, they lacked maturity in the Clásico at the decisive moments,” he said.
Wenger also gave Xabi Alonso credit for Real Madrid’s game plan.
“Xabi Alonso
balanced his team well today… Overall, I’d say it was a bit like a men’s match against boys in some respects. Jude Bellingham’s pass was exceptional and Barcelona didn’t have this type of player today to make the difference… That class, that special class, gives you the victory,” he added.
Real Madrid have received credit and praise from most analysts and pundits in world football, as they managed to dominate and control most of the game while also earning the three points.
