The Atlanta Braves have brought utilityman Vidal Bruján back to the organizations, signing him to a minor league deal according to the team’s transaction page. Bruján, 28, spent part of the 2025 season with Atlanta.
The move gives the organization depth across multiple positions as Bruján has big league experience at second base, shortstop, third base and all three outfield positions. Since debuting in 2021, he has appeared in 271 MLB games, but only saw action in nine contests with the New York Metropolitans
last season.
Bruján doesn’t offer much offensively with little power and a stolen base success rate of barely over 50-percent for his big league career. However, the Braves came into this offseason with almost no depth on the middle infield. Other than Ozzie Albies, whose option was picked up, only Jim Jarvis is under contract from the 2026 team’s middle infielders.
Bruján debuted with the Tampa Bay Rays and spent three seasons with the team. He’s played with five different organizations, including the Braves, since 2024. He has a career 53 wRC+.
