The Commanders roster churn continues as we enter the next wave of training camp. Washington added veteran linebacker Krys Barnes, CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz reported on Monday evening.
The UCLA product has been in the NFL since 2020, with stops in Green Bay, Arizona and Carolina over the past six seasons. He has 303 total tackles, including 16 for a loss
and a sack to his credit.
This adds depth to an already strong position group, which may portend that there’s an injury to be accounted for within the position group that we don’t yet know about. It could also ramp up competition there and on special teams, where the Commanders are always looking for capable players in the kicking game.
This was one of several transactions made by the Commanders in the wake of Friday’s 20-7 preseason win over the Miami Dolphins. The team is expected to announce most of the signings, and at least one corresponding move before Tuesday morning’s practice.
