What is the story about?
Golden State Warriors Head Coach Steve Kerr will retain that title, and his position, for two more seasons. Kerr’s willingness to remain with the Warriors after 12 seasons and 4 NBA Championships was in question this summer. A parting of the ways seemed possible, if not immanent. But Shams Charania of ESPN is reporting that Kerr has signed a two-year contract to remain with the team.
Kerr has compiled a 604-353 record with the Warriors in a dozen campaigns, a .631 winning average. His 104-48 record in the NBA Playoffs eclipses that, a .684 rate of winning. Kerr and the Warriors won NBA Titles in 2015, 2017, 2018, and 2022.
The Warriors earned a 37-45 record during the 2025-26 regular season, only the second losing record in Kerr’s tenure.
